LESSON PLAN
Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop) weekly lesson plans (3/28/11/2011-4/1/2011) Will be fallowing the Test Schedule
Monday 3/28/11

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Some students will continue to work on the clip board project. We will be putting the clips on using 3/32” pop rivets. Students who are finished will continue to assemble parts for the Kayak.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working : Students will continue to work on projects. Many students are starting to assemble and stain projects. At this point in project production grate amount of individual one on one instruction.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to work on projects. Many students are starting to assemble and stain projects. At this point in project production grate amount of individual one on one instruction.
TUESDAY 3/29/11

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Same processes will take place in this class as Monday.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students are continuing with project work. Students are making grate head way. Will give a demonstration on pattern making using the arms for the rocking chair.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: : Students are continuing with project work. Students are making grate head way. Will give a demonstration on pattern making using the arms for the rocking chair.
WENDNESDAY3/30/11

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will start to assemble the bottom half of the kayak this will take some time to position all parts properly. We will be using screws to fasten all parts to the inner frame parts.
Pd. 2,3,6 BASIC WOOD WORKING: Students will continue to work on projects. Students who have stain projects will be clear coating projects. If it is a indoor project they will be using a water soluble clear coat. They will apply three coats.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to work on projects. Students who have stain projects will be clear coating projects. If it is a indoor project they will be using a water soluble clear coat. They will apply three coats.
THURSDAY3/31/11

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will make sure everything is in proper position and we will start to fiberglass all joints on the inside of the bottom parts. We will do this in front of the outside door so we can vent the air to the outside. We will put a insert in the door way so just the fan will fit in the hole.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will continue with projects. Students who are finished with projects will take all measurements and figure out the board footage and cost and turn it in to me.
Pd.7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue with projects. Students who are finished with projects will take all measurements and figure out the board footage and cost and turn it in to me.
FRIDAY 4/1/11

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will continue our work from Thursday of assembling the bottom half first.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Work: Students will continue to work on projects.

Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to work on projects.

Objectives; Wood shop-To have students fully understand the safe and proper use of all power equipment in the shop.
Plastics- To give students an understanding of how signs are engraved, and how plastic can be heated and shaped
Assessments; Will be done by Question and Answers and Quiz.

Monday 3/21/11 No School

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We know have all the patterns cut out and will start to assemble pattern pieces together using ¼” plywood pieces and wood glue to splice the pieces together.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working : Students will continue to work on projects. Many students are assembling projects. Many students are in the assembly phase of project construction. I will have to spend more one on one time with students who are assembling.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to work on projects. Many students are assembling projects. Many students are assembling projects. Many students are in the assembly phase of project construction. I will have to spend more one on one time with students who are assembling.
TUESDAY 3/22/11

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will continue splicing the pieces together. We will also be adding pieces of pine to the support pieces. So the sides can be screwed to the supports.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will continue to work on projects. Will give a refresher on plug cutting and sanding so students have a full understanding of the process.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to work on projects. Will give a refresher on plug cutting and sanding so students have a full understanding of the process.
WENDNESDAY3/23/11

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Some students will be working on the clip board project while we are working fitting Kayak pieces together.
Pd. 2,3,6 BASIC WOOD WORKING: Students will continue to work on projects. Will give a refresher on using stain and the proper methods of applying stain. Many students are starting to stain and many projects are getting done.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to work on projects. Will give a refresher on using stain and the proper methods of applying stain. Many students are starting to stain and many projects are getting done.
THURSDAY3/24/11

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will start to assemble the bottom half of the Kayak first. We will be building the bottom half first and fiber glassing that first. This process could take some days to complete.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will continue to work on projects.

Pd.7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to work on projects.
