LESSON PLAN
Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop) weekly lesson plans (10/25/10 - 10/29 /10)7th week
Monday 10/25
Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will start blow molding Projects(cereal bowl). I will give demonstration on peeling the protective coating off precut acrylic then place in the oven for 4 minutes. We will then take out and place mold blower. After bowl is shaped I will cut shape out on band saw. I will then sand the edge. I will then buff the edge.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working : Students will start clear coating,. I will give a demo on how to sand the first coat to take all the dust out of the finish. Students will then wipe it down with tack cloth then apply second coat.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will start clear coating. I will give a demo on how to sand the first coat to take all the dust out of the finish. Students will then wipe it down with tack cloth then apply second coat.
TUESDAY 10/26

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Students will choose their color and then they will take turns doing project. Some students may do submersion projects also.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will continue to apply clear coat. Students will apply three coats in all.

Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to apply clear coat. Students will apply three coats in all.
WENDNESDAY 10/27

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will continue with blow mold project.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will be finishing up the clear cutting. I will grade finished projects so students may take them home.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will be finishing up the clear cutting. I will grade finished projects so students may take them home.
THURSDAY 10/28

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Will continue with the blow project.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students who were absent will finish clear coating. We will be discussing different types of joints used in wood project construction.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students who were absent will finish clear coating. We will be discussing different types of joints used in wood project construction.
FRIDAY 10/29

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: WE will be starting a lager blow mold project (large candy dish).

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: We will be starting the next project which will be the shelf with pegs. Students will start planning lumber down.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: We will be starting the next project which will be the shelf with pegs. Students will start planning lumber down.

PA. Standards (Science & Technology); 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6
Objectives; Wood shop-To have students fully understand the safe and proper use of all power equipment in the shop.
Plastics- To give students an understanding of how signs are engraved, and how plastic can be heated and shaped
Assessments; Will be done by Question and Answers and Quiz.

Monday 10/18

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will be wrapping up the submersion projects today.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working : Students will continue to assemble and apply the screws to projects. Students will continue to put plugs into project, and fill holes. Some students will start to remove plugs and sand.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue to assemble and apply the screws to projects. Students will continue to put plugs into project, and fill holes. Some students will start to remove plugs and sand. Advanced students will continue with projects.
TUESDAY 10/19

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will be starting they Soft plastics projects. I will give a demonstration on the process of making soft artificial lures.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will continue with bench projects. I will be giving a staining demonstration.

Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue with bench projects. I will be giving a staining demonstration.
WENDNESDAY 10/20

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Students will start the soft plastics project. Students will be allowed to choose any mold they like. They may do as many as they like as long as everyone does the project first.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Some students will start staining while others will be cutting plugs and sanding.

Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Some students will start staining while others will be cutting plugs and sanding.

THURSDAY 10/21

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Will continue with the soft plastics project.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Most student will be staining today.

Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: : Most student will be staining today.

FRIDAY 10/22

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will start to put projects together. They will use the air nil gun first then they will use screws to finish assembly. Students will cut wooden plugs to fill screw holes.
