LESSON PLAN Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop and Plastics Technology) weekly lesson plans (2-25-2012 to 3-1-2012) Monday 2/25/12 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. pd. Students will be working on making the box for holding the chess board and pieces. 7th pd. will be working on coating the chess pieces. While they are working on coating and waiting for the latex to dry they will be working on the Dies set project. I will be giving a demo on sanding and buffing the 1” x 1” dice pieces. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood : Students will be working on individual Projects . I will be going around to each student and helping them get started cutting parts. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Tuesday 2/26 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. pd. will continue working on boxes. They will be staining. 7th. Pd. We will continue with coating process. They will also work on the dice project. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will be working on individual projects. I will continue walking around and helping students. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. Some students will be choose their next project to build. WEDNESDAY 2/27 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. Pd. Students will continue with staining and they will also be clear coating. 7th. Pd. I will start to remove chess pieces from molds. This will take approximately two days. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue with individual projects and I will give a demonstration on gluing legs together. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Thursday 2/28 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st pd. Students will be finishing clear coating. They will also be making another chess board that will serve as the lid for the box. 7th. Pd. students will continue with removing chess pieces from the molds. Students that are done will be switching chess pieces with other students and then attaching them for coating to complete their sets. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue with individual projects and I will give a demonstration on gluing legs together. Students will be planning wood down as they need it. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Friday 3/1 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st pd. We will be cutting the design in the second boards and then they will be sand blasting the design. 7th. Pd. students will continue with coating of the second group of chess pieces to complete their sets. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue with individual projects and I will give a demonstration on gluing legs together. Students will be planning wood down as they need it. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. FOR ALL PERIODS: PA. Standards (Science & Technology); 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6 Objectives; Wood shop-To have students fully understand process of how to use different types of measuring devices and how to measure accurately. Students will also learn safe and acceptable procedure for the shop. Plastics- To have students fully understand process of how to use different types of measuring devices and how to measure accurately. Students will also learn safe and acceptable procedure for the shop. Assessments; Will be done by Question and Answers and Quiz.

LESSON PLAN Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop and Plastics Technology) weekly lesson plans (2-11-2012 to 2-15-2012) Monday 2/11/12 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. pd. will working on making the chess boards. I will be giving a demonstration on layout of the design and how to cut the lines and which pieces of protective paper will be removed. 7nd. Pd. will be starting the chess sets. The first thing we will be doing is attaching the chess pieces to the sheet metal. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood : Students will be choosing projects. We will spend approximately two days doing this. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Tuesday 2/12 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. pd. will continue with layout of lines and cutting. I will also give demonstration on sand blasting. 7th. Pd. We will continue with the attachment process. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will finish choosing projects to build. I will be making copies for them. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. Some students will be choose their next project to build. WEDNESDAY 2/13 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. Pd. Students will continue with sand blasting this will take some time do because students only being able to do it one at a time. 7th. Pd. I will give demonstration of coating the pieces with the latex. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: We will be going over their projects and we will be figuring the board footage and how much it will cost to build. Students must choose the kind of wood they will be using. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Thursday 2/14 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st pd. Students will be finishing the sand blasting. We will be working also on preparing the wood for the wooden box. 7th. Pd. students will continue with coating. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will be working on figuring out the cost. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Friday 2/15 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st pd. We will be sanding wood and cutting angles in all boards. 7th. Pd. students will continue with coating. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: We will be choosing the wood from the wood room. Students will only be given one board at a time. Students may not get their own wood I will be helping them choose the pieces. Students will be working as a group to plane lumber down. We will talk about what thickness they must plane lumber down to if they must glue boards together to make them wider.
