LESSON PLAN Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop and Plastics Technology) weekly lesson plans (3-18-2012 to 3-22-2012) Monday 3/18 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. pd. Students will be bringing in pictures for the clip board project. We will be doing a small wooden block with picture. 7th pd. They will be pouring the chess sets with the liquid acrylic. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood : Students will be working on individual Projects . I will be going around to each student and helping them. Students will continue with planeing wood down as they need more parts Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Tuesday 3/19 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. pd. Students will be choosing the color of the clip board. 7th. Pd. Students will continue to pour. Some who have poured will be removing the chess Pisces from the molds. They will prepare molds to be poured for with the second color. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will be working on individual projects. I will continue walking around and helping students. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. Some students will be choosing their next project to build. WEDNESDAY 3/20 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st. I will give demonstration on sanding the surface of the acrylic so that the coating material will stick better to the surfaceand I will give a demonstration on how to glue pictures to the board. 7th. Pd. Students will continue to remove chess pieces from molds. When the molds are pored they must be left in the molds for at least two days to fully cure. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue with individual projects . I will be giving demonstrations on using the mortis machine. This will take some time for all students making legs to do. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Thursday 3/21 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st pd. I will give demo on placing the tape around the edge of the board to act as the edging to keep the coating material on the board. 7th. Pd. Some students will start to pour their second set of chess pieces. Other students will be removing the chess pieces from the molds. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue with individual projects. Students will be planning wood down as they need it. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I will continue to move around the room looking over projects and checking student progress. Friday 3/22 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: 1st pd. I will be giving a demonstration on Sanding and buffing the Dice project. I will then show them how to drill the dice. 7th. Pd. Students will be working on chess pieces. Students are at different steps with this project but are doing well. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue with individual projects and I will give a demonstration on gluing legs together. Students will be planning wood down as they need it. Students will be working on clear coating the box for holding the chess board and pieces. 7th pd. will be working on coating the chess pieces. They will be trading pieces with another person so they will have a complete set. They will also work on the dice project. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood : Students will be working on individual Projects .
