Hello Every One! I hope everyone had a good summer! I look forward to seeing students who I have had in the past and my new students I hope to have an exciting year and hope we can produce some top quality projects. Students will not only build projects but learn how to safely operate equipment. These are skills that they will have forever and may lead them into a profession they will enjoy as they someday go into the work force. Students will be bringing home a letter that will explain how projects are charged for and this must be signed and return to me by the end of the first week. During the first week they will also receive a letter explaining my grading system that I am asking be signed and returned. I will see you on Monday the 9/1/2015

We are coming down to the end! Students are finish up their clocks We are waiting on the dial face. They will be in next week. I am very happy with all the clocks that have been finished I believe the students have taken pride in their work and are very excited about getting them done. I apologize for students not being able to get to work on their own choice of projects this year, but with the renovations we were not able to get to that. I hope to see many of my students next year in advanced wood. All students will be receiving a study guide for the finals. I hope they will study and do their best. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Good afternoon! Basic wood working and advanced wood working students are now working a drawing project on Auto Cad. The assignment is for the students to create a working set of plans that they could go to the wood shop a build a project using the plans they have created. They must have a Front, Top, and a Side view. They must have all plans dimensioned. The grade for this will be equivalent to a test grade. It is very important that students do their best. Plastic students will continue to work with the plastics injection molder. If you have any questions feel free to contact me here at school.

WOW! Can you believe spring is wright around the corner? Renovations are going grate. I believe we will be back in the shop by the first week in April. A new heating system, new lights that will be so much more energy efficient! And a new dust collector. Wright know we are working on Auto Cad with the students. I am hearing from some students that they didn’t sign up for this! I do understand that. But what they don’t realize is that they will be able to design their own projects and be able to understand other project plans better. With the Advanced wood working students they are drawing plans on the computers that they will be able to use when we go back to the shop. Plastics students will be learning how to use plastics injection molder. They will be makeing small Phillips and Flat Head screw drivers. If you have any questions for me you can contact me at school by phone or email

Hello every one! As you know we are under construction here at Northschuylkill. The Metal, Wood and Power Tech rooms are being renovated. Grate head way is being made. At the present time all Basic wood working classes are working on the computers in the drafting room. The advanced cabinet class will be involved in set construction for the upcoming musical. They will be helping to build sets; I believe this will be very beneficial in teaching students some simple construction. Plastics class will be working with a plastic injection over the next two weeks we will be making Screw drivers and other small objects. This will give students a good representation of how some products are made in industry. Basic wood working students will continue to use Auto Cad. If you have any concerns please feel free to contact me by E- Mail or by phone.

Construction

Hello every one! As you know we are under construction here at Northschuylkill. The Metal, Wood and Power Tech rooms are being renovated. Grate head way is being made. At the present time all Basic wood working classes are working on the computers in the drafting room. Some students are refreshing their memories on Auto Cad and others are learning for the first time. We had been working from the wood working books doing study packets. Having the students working on Auto Cad will be very helpful for students who would like to design their own wood or metal projects. I will be giving students a project plan and asking them to recreate the plans but they will then be making alterations to the project that would benefit them better. I have heard from many students that this is not what I signed up for! There is not much I can do about that but we just have to make the best of it. I am hoping to be back in the wood shop by the end of March. He you have any concerns please feel free to contact by E- Mail or by phone.
