LESSON PLAN
Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop) weekly lesson plans (9/27/10 - 10/1 /10)5th week
Monday 9/27

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Students will be working on the Laminated plastic key chain project. Students will sand all edges on belt sander then use hand sand Paper. Students will then buff the edges.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working : We will start first project by selecting the boards to make the bench. We will then start to plane lumber down.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: We will start first project by selecting the boards to make the bench. We will then start to plane lumber down. Advanced students will be choosing projects and working on plans and the plan the steps they need to follow.
TUESDAY 9/28

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Students will continue with key chain project. I will give a demo on drilling and adding the key holder.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: We will finish up the planning of wood. We will then cut into individual pieces for each student.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: We will finish up the planning of wood. We will then cut into individual pieces for each student.
WENDNESDAY 9/29

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Students will finish up key chain project.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will follow my lead as we go through the steps to prepare the wood into separate pieces of wood.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will follow my lead as we go through the steps to prepare the wood into separate pieces of wood.
THURSDAY 9/30

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: I will give a demonstration on the start of our next project which will be the clip board. We will be using acrylic glass and Resin to create this project. We will add a picture between the acrylic and resin.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: We will cut the angle cut to the top and bottom of the bench ends.

Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: We will cut the angle cut to the top and bottom of the bench ends. Advanced students will be starting projects.
FRIDAY 10/1

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Students will start project by cutting acrylic and sanding the edges.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Will give students a demonstration on pattern layout and then how to cut the ends out on the band saw.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Will give students a demonstration on pattern layout and then how to cut the ends out on the band saw.
FOR ALL PERIODS:
PA. Standards (Science & Technology); 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6
Objectives; Wood shop-To have students fully understand the safe and proper use of all power equipment in the shop.
Plastics- To give students an understanding of how signs are engraved, and how plastic can be heated and shaped
Assessments; Will be done by Question and Answers and Quiz.
