LESSON PLAN
Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop) weekly lesson plans (11/8/10 - 11/12 /10)11th week
Monday 11/8/10
Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will be starting the casting project. I will be giving a demonstration on how we will be making the molds for the chess pieces that we will be making. We will be using Latex mold builder.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working : Some students will be finishing the sanding and routering and some will be assembling the shelf. We will be using 1 ½” finish nails glue and hammers.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Some students will be finishing the sanding and routering and some will be assembling the shelf. We will be using 1 ½” finish nails glue and hammers.
TUESDAY 11/9/10

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: We will continue with the mold building process.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will continue with shelf assembly. Will give demonstration on how to drill and apply the three pegs to the shelf
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue with shelf assembly. Will give demonstration on how to drill and apply the three pegs to the shelf. Advanced students will continue with advanced projects.
WENDNESDAY 11/10/10

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Will continue with mold project.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will continue with shelf assembly. Will give demonstration on how to drill and apply the three pegs to the shelf
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will continue with shelf assembly. Will give demonstration on how to drill and apply the three pegs to the shelf. Advanced students will continue with advanced projects.
THURSDAY 11/11/10

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Students will peel Latex molds off the forms.

Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Students will sand putty off nail holes and prepare for staining. Some students will start to stain.
Pd.7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Students will sand putty off nail holes and prepare for staining. Some students will start to stain.
FRIDAY 11/12/10

Pd. 4,5 Plastics: Some students may still be removing the forms from the molds. Will give demonstration on mixing and poring the molds.
Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood Working: Will give a demonstration on the wood lathe. All students will be required to make a project on the lathe.
Pd. 7 Advanced Cabinet Making: Will give a demonstration on the wood lathe. All students will be required to make a project on the lathe.
FOR ALL PERIODS:
PA. Standards (Science & Technology); 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6
Objectives; Wood shop-To have students fully understand the safe and proper use of all power equipment in the shop.
Plastics- To give students an understanding of how signs are engraved, and how plastic can be heated and shaped
Assessments; Will be done by Question and Answers and Quiz.
