LESSON PLAN Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop and Plastics Technology) weekly lesson plans (4-15-2012 to 4-19-2012) Monday 4/15 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: Students will be starting the next project. The next project will be the Mug. I will be giving a demonstration on sanding the ends of the acrylic tube and tracing the tube shape onto a piece of acrylic to make the bottom. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood : Students will continue to work on individual projects. We are starting to assemble many projects. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will be working on their projects and I will be going around assisting students as needed. Tuesday 4/16 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: Students will be working on sanding and cutting and sanding the bottom. I will give a demonstration on how the bottom will be taped in position and then how we will apply the glue, we will then place them in the vices. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue to work on individual projects. I continue to move around the class to check on student progress and to help with whatever they need. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will be working on their project and I will be going around assisting students as needed. WEDNESDAY 4/17 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: Students will be sanding the edge of the bottom till it is flush with the cylinder. They will go all the way down to 600 grit and then I will demonstrate how to buff the bottom and the Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue to work on individual projects. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will be working on their projects and I will be going around assisting students as needed. Thursday 4/18 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: Students will continue to sand and buff their mugs. We will also add water to the mug to make sure it is water tight. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue to work on individual projects. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will be working on their projects and I will be going around assisting students as needed. Friday 4/19 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: I will be giving a demonstration on making the handle out of ½” acrylic rod. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will continue to work on individual projects. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will be working on their projects and I will be going around assisting students as needed. FOR ALL PERIODS: PA. Standards (Science & Technology); 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6 Objectives; Wood shop-To have students fully understand process of how to use different types of measuring devices and how to measure accurately. Students will also learn safe and acceptable procedure for the shop. Plastics- To have students fully understand process of how to use different types of measuring devices and how to measure accurately.
