LESSON PLAN
Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop and Plastics Technology) weekly lesson plans (10/10/2011 to 10/14/2011)
Monday 10/10

Pd. 1,4,7 Basic Wood: Students will be finishing the Free Hand routering project. We will also be planeing lumber down For our next router project. This will take the whole period. We will be using Poplar.
Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students are in the process of planning lumber down and getting wood ready to glue together. I will be giving a demonstration on gluing along edge grain. Students will learn proper procedures and what to look for when gluing.
Pd. 2,3 Plastics Technology: I will be giving a demonstration on drilling 11/16” hole in each of their blocks and then tapping it with the threading tool.
Tuesday 10/11

Pd. 1,4,7 Basic Wood: I will be giving a demonstration on the Plunge router and using the letter jig to create our next router project. This demo will take most of the period. I want the students to have a full understanding of how the plunge router will be used and how we will be using the letter jigs to create a perfect name plate.
Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking:
Pd. 2,3 Plastics Technology: Students will continue with drilling and tapping.
WENDNESDAY 10/12

Pd. 1,4,7 Basic Wood: We will be planning lumber down for the plunge router project. This will take the entire period.

Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue to plane lumber down and glue stock together.

Pd. 2,3 Plastics Technology: Students will continue drilling and tapping. I will be making the threaded plugs for the blocks.
Thursday 10/13

Pd. 1,4,7 Basic Wood: Students will be starting the plunge router project. This project will take approximately three days due to the amount of students in the classes. Students can also use the free hand router if they choose to do extra.
Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will continue with projects. Some students will be cutting out parts for projects at this point.
Pd. 2,3 Plastics Technology: Students will continue drilling and tapping. Some will be finishing up by giving their projects a final polish on the wheel.
Friday 10/14 I will not be in school students will have work to do.

Objectives; Wood shop-To have students fully understand process of how to use different types of measuring devices and how to measure accurately. Students will also learn safe and acceptable procedure for the shop.
Plastics- To have students fully understand process of how to use different types of measuring devices and how to measure accurately. Students will also learn safe and acceptable procedure for the shop.
Assessments; Will be done by Question and Answers and Quiz.
