LESSON PLAN Kevin Scheib (Wood Shop and Plastics Technology) weekly lesson plans (9-10-2012 to 9/14/2012) Monday 9/10 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: I will be giving a demonstration on using the strip heater and how to bend plastic. I will give demo on sanding and buffing of edges of their plastic before it is bent. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: We will be continuing with the presentation on different cutting tools and hammers. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: We will be continuing with the presentation on different cutting tools and hammers. Tuesday 9/11 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: We did not start the first project on 9/13. They will be starting their first project today. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: We will continue with the demonstration on cutting tools. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: This class will be taking the quiz on cutting tools and hammers. WENDNESDAY 9/12 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: Students will be continuing with their projects. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: Students will be taking the quiz on the cutting tools and hammers. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: I will be giving a demonstration on using the Surface Planer. Students will receive a study packet with the machines in it. Thursday 9/13 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: We will be cutting the acrylic for their next picture frame project. We will be using 1/8” thick acrylic for this project. I will give a demonstration on sanding, buffing and then layout of lines to be bent. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: I will be giving a demonstration on the Surface Planer. Students will receive a study packet with the machines in it. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: I will be giving a demonstration on using the Jointer Friday 9/14 Pd. 1,7 Plastics: Students will continue with work on the second picture frame project. Pd. 2,3,6 Basic Wood: I will be giving a demonstration on the Jointer. Pd. 5 Advanced Cabinetmaking: Students will have a test on each the Surface Planer and the Jointer. FOR ALL PERIODS: PA. Standards (Science & Technology); 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6 Objectives; Wood shop-To have students fully understand process of how to use different types of measuring devices and how to measure accurately. Students will also learn safe and acceptable procedure for the shop.
